Part-time Counsellor
Centennial College, an independent College established by The University of Hong Kong, is a post-secondary college registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap. 320). The College offers full-time self-financed 4-year Bachelor degree programmes, and is now inviting applications for appointment as:
Part-time Counsellor[RF:2020/21-PT-0003-CMT]
Duties
The appointee will plan and provide counselling and guidance services to students; develop and organize activities for students in areas such as college adjustment, learning enhancement, personal and career development, as well as provide support services to non-local students. He/She will also liaise with internal and external parties on matters related to student development and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Candidates should possess a Master Degree in Social Work or Counselling with at least 5 years’ experience in counselling and youth service. He/she should be a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Hong Kong. Proven ability to engage students, staff and faculty in developing a healthy campus culture that support student well-being. Good written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), excellent interpersonal and communication skills, mature personality, a good team player and the ability to handle administrative work effectively are essential. Experience in student services in tertiary education will be an advantage. Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment at the Assistant Counsellor grade.
Terms of Appointment
Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment shall be on a half-time (50%) basis from as soon as possible till May 2022.
