The International Conference on Business Case Research (ICBCR 2018)

The Second International Conference on Business Case Research (ICBCR) organised by Centennial College, an independent College established by the University of Hong Kong and Peter F. Drucker Academy will be held in Hong Kong from 12 to 14 Jun 2018 at the University of Hong Kong. This year, the conference theme is “Management as a Liberal Art: Disruptive Creativity in a Digital Age”. Leveraged by digital technology, disruptive innovations bring tremendous value to society. Taking a management as a liberal art approach, creative disruption not only benefits the financial performance of company but also the overall growth of society.​ The conference aims to provide a platform for researchers, scholars and industrial practitioners from around the globe to share experience and exchange ideas.

The International Conference on Business Case Research (ICBCR 2016)

Co-organised by Centennial College and Peter F. Drucker Academy of Hong Kong, the first International Conference on Business Case Research (ICBCR) was successfully held from 12 to 14 December 2016. Academics and industrial leaders from around the world presented their research findings and exchanged their experience and expertise in modern enterprise management. On 13 December 2016, a number of renowned speakers were invited to deliver speeches on “Management and Innovation” and “Drucker’s Legacy in the 21st Century Management” in the forum. It was well received by over 270 participants. In the afternoon, conference participants were divided into four groups for presentation. A guided visit to LKK Health Products Group was arranged on 14 December 2016, through which participants gained a better understanding about the modern management approach of this prestigious Hong Kong-based modern conglomerate. 





Management and Innovation Forum (2016)

The Management and Innovation Forum was successfully held on 13 December, 2016. A number of distinguished speakers were invited to deliver speeches on “Management and Innovation” and “Drucker’s Legacy in the 21st Century Management”. The opening speech was given by Dr. David Chung, Under Secretary of Innovation and Technology Bureau, Hong Kong SAR Government, followed by the keynote speech of Professor Thomas Horan, Dean of Drucker-Ito School of Management at Claremont Graduate University (CGU). Other notable speakers include Mr. Sunny Wong, Executive Director of Tibet Water Resources Ltd. and former Chairman of Carlsberg Greater China, Professor Royce Yuen, CEO of MaLogic, as well as Mr. David Yeung, founder of Green Monday. The forum was well received by over 270 participants.


Road to Start-ups Seminar

On November 18, 2016, Mr. Steven Lam, CEO and Co-founder of GoGoVan, was invited as the guest speaker for the “Road to Start-ups” seminar. Being the first app-based platform for van rental and logistics services in Hong Kong, GoGoVan has been experiencing rapid business expansion from Hong Kong to other Asia Pacific countries like Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, China and Australia. The interesting and insightful sharing by Steven on the stories of his personal growth as well as the establishment of GoGoVan has received big applause. The seminar was jointly organized by School of Management, Centennial College and HKUSPACE Centre for Logistics and Transport.




The Promise of Big Data Analytics - Creating the Business Opportunities and Advantages like Never Before Seminar

On 27 May 2016, Centennial College conducted a seminar, titled "The Promise of Big Data Analytics - Creating the Business Opportunities and Advantages like Never Before”.  The seminar attracted more than 200 participants.  Mr. Wilfred Wah, Director of Operations, SAS Institute (HK) Ltd. and  Mr. Leo Lau, Director of Service and Innovation, Radica Systems Ltd. introduced development trends of big data analytics and shared their views on business opportunities in big data era. They also used case studies to show how analysts gathered information and conducted relevant analysis, aiming to better understand the market.


Mary Kay Make Up & Skincare Workshop

On 22 April 2016, professionals from Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants delivered a free make-up training seminar to Centennial College students. Participants received valuable skincare and make-up tips on how to bring out the details of a decent image for different contexts, including job interviews. Latest developments of the cosmetic industry were also shared during the event.
